ABSENCE OF SILENCE
noise in my ear
noise all around
even noise underground
sometimes it seems
that noise is all you hear
at least that's how it seems...
then when it is quiet
you still hear background noise
and when it is not
things get as loud as a riot
enough to make one lose their poise...
this neverending all pervasive noise.
